Adjustable Auxiliary Flow

This unique feature lets you control oil flow and customize up to five different preset attachment flows on your KX040-5. Use the digital panel to conveniently adjust the maximum oil flow setting so you are always in control. Plus, one-way flow can be set through the monitor, eliminating the need for manual operation under the bonnet. Single auxiliaries with a diverter valve or dual auxiliaries are available to best suit your needs.

Conserve Energy with Auto Engine Idle and Stop Systems

When the excavator’s control levers remain in neutral for over four seconds, the Auto Idle system will intuitively lower the engine RPM. The engine will automatically ramp back up to normal RPM levels upon lever movement. For further energy conservation, the Engine Auto Stop will shut off your engine automatically after prolonged idling, with customizable time limits.

Precision Angle or 6-Way Blade Options

Save time and enhance efficiency with an optional Angle Blade. With a simple thumb-operated switch on the dozer lever, the blade can be angled left or right to push soil sideways as the machine advances, eliminating the need for repetitive repositioning at right angles during trench backfilling. Kubota's hydraulic 6-in-1 Blade offers even more versatility, allowing for six positions: neutral, up-down, left-end-up, right-end-up, left-end-forward, and right-end-forward. This feature simplifies levelling and backfilling tasks, even on slopes and uneven ground.

LED Work Lights with Delayed Auto Turn-Off

Illuminate your work site with LED work lights featuring customizable turn-off delay for enhanced convenience and safety. Operators can program the lights to automatically switch off within 30 seconds to 2 minutes after the engine is shut down. This feature ensures that the operator can safely exit the machine and move away with ample illumination until they are clear of the area.

Rear View Camera Option

Reverse confidently with a factory designed, rear-view camera option on the KX040-5. This camera relays a fish-eye view directly to the 7” LCD screen in the cab, so you can be aware of your surroundings while reversing.

Keyless Start Standard

Keyless start is a standard feature for the KX040-5. It allows the engine to be started by entering a 4-digit passcode using the keypad on the excavator, with the option for up to ten user passcodes. This eliminates concerns about lost keys to start the excavator, providing added convenience for customers.
